Our starting site will now only
have the bare minimum and the beginnings of an accumulating mass of knowledge
and information.
This exhibition - the terracotta icons of Molela - is being presented
in semi- independent installments, the first of which covers the prefiring
techniques and materials used in the manufacture of terracotta icons.
The coming chapters of the story of Molela will contain, in words and
images: the firing process, the icons and the meaning of their contents
and background, the story of the minorities who come to Molela to purchase
the icons, the ceremony of installing the icons etc. etc.
